On Monday afternoon, June 26, the Chicago Blackhawks traded Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula to the Boston Bruins in return for Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno.
The purpose of this trade was for the Bruins to clear up cap space and the Blackhawks acquired some top forwards to play beside their soon to be 1st overall draft pick.
Taylor Hall has a cap hit of $6,000,000 for the next two seasons but Nick Foligno needed to be resigned. And the Blackhawks wasted no time signing him to a one-year contract with a $4,000,000 salary cap hit.
Taylor Hall is coming off a 36 points season with the Boston Bruins with 16 goals and 20 assists. The veteran left winger has played for 5 different teams and has 693 career goals with 822 games played.
The other veteran joining Taylor Hall is Nick Foligno who has played over 1,000 games in his career with 4 other teams. This season he had his best season in 4 years, posting 10 goals, 16 assists, for a total of 26 points in 60 games played.
Two very could additions for the Chicago Blackhawks and a great way to kick off the rebuild.
