Chicago Blackhawks makes deal with Flyers, acquire 51st pick in draft
In a draft day trade, the Philadelphia Flyers and Chicago Blackhawks engaged in a transaction that saw the Flyers secure the 51st overall pick.
In exchange for the 51st pick, the Flyers traded the Kings' 2024 second-round pick (acquired in the Ivan Provorov deal) and pick 167.
With their newly acquired selection, the Flyers opted to strengthen their goaltending prospects by choosing Carson Bjarnason, a promising goalie from the Brandon Wheat Kings.
From the Blackhawks' perspective, this deal allowed them to acquire additional draft assets while providing the Flyers an opportunity to strengthen their goaltending depth.
