He began his career with the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015-2016 season, playing 81 games and tallying eighteen goals, along with 34 assists for 52 points and a +3 rating. He remained with the Coyotes for two more seasons before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens.
During his time with the Canadiens, he had his best season in 2018-2019, scoring 28 goals, earning 72 points, and maintaining a +20 rating.
After a challenging season with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2020-2021, Domi was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. During his one season with the team, he played 60 games and experienced a resurgence, scoring 49 points and accumulating 76 penalty minutes. He quickly became a fan favourite but was eventually traded to the Dallas Stars at the trade deadline.
According to recent reports, it seems Domi will become an unrestricted free agent and will not sign an extension or seek a contract with the Dallas Stars.
Considering the Blackhawks' recent drafting of Connor Bedard and acquisition of Taylor Hall, and Nick Foligno, it is possible that Domi would be a good fit for the team and could help strengthen their lines.
It's worth noting that Domi, a 28-year-old center, is the son of legendary Toronto Maple Leafs forward Tie Domi.
