DEBRINCAT announces a big change with his new team
It seems that after a year in Ottawa, Alex DeBrincat has grown tired of the scenery and has requested to be traded out of the Senators' organization. Reports suggest that he wants to return to playing in the United States.
Instead of rejoining his former team, the Chicago Blackhawks, a deal was worked out between Pierre Dorion and Steve Yzerman.
Alex DeBrincat says he will wear #93
DeBrincat now has a new contract with a decent term, even though his offer from the Red Wings was slightly lower than what he had received from the Senators. This just goes to show that sometimes location matters more than money.
DeBrincat will also be changing his jersey number from #12 to #93, which was previously worn by Johan Franzen, who won a Stanley Cup with the team back in 2008 when Mike Babcock was the head coach.
Best of luck to you in Detroit, Alex!
