Does Corey Crawford belong in the Hall of Fame?
Corey Crawford has an impressive list of accomplishments, including two Jennings Trophies, two Stanley Cups, two All-Star Game appearances, and an All-Rookie award.
Despite these accolades, he was not included on the ballot during his first year of eligibility for the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The 2023 class of the Hockey Hall of Fame will be announced tomorrow.
Corey Crawford, a first-year eligible, won't be part of it.
But maybe he should?
This decision seems unfathomable considering his storied career, which included carrying the Blackhawks to their 2013 Stanley Cup victory.
Crawford's save percentage was consistently impressive, remaining at .918% in 488 games, with only two seasons dipping below that standard in his ten-year career.
He also led a poorly constructed 2016-2017 team to 50 wins in a season and led the league in save percentage in 2013 at .932%, while carrying his team to the Stanley Cup Final with a 2.78 goals per game rate.
In contrast, the 2010 team had Niemi lead them to the finals with a .910%, while they scored an average of three goals per game.
The lack of recognition for Crawford's legacy is disrespectful.
