Amidst the flurry of jersey's being tossed on the ice of late, players have taken notice and recently one player took action against the disrespectful event.
The Edmonton Oilers faced the Pittsburgh Penguins and after the Penguins ultimately lost the battle of Crosby vs. McDavid, Draisaitl made headlines.
That doesn't seem a surprise, as Draisaitl is a world-class player. But his play isn't what is being referred to.
Draisaitl watched a Penguins fan run towards the glass and pull of his Penguins jersey, only to toss it onto the ice. Exuding his absolute professionalism, Draisaitl gathered the jersey with his stick and tossed it back in the stands towards the fan.
Of late this has become a regular theme and it was only a matter-of-time before a player reacted to the senseless act.
NHL players bust their butts and to see their jersey hanging on the ice, after giving their all for a win, just to see their jersey on the ice is a big insult.
