Even in a 5,000 seat arena this statistic proves the Coyotes are embarrassing
The Arizona Coyotes are currently playing their first season is their new home, or at least it is their home for now.
Mullett Arena is hosting the Coyotes for now, as the organization did not renew their contract with their prior stadium. Mullett Arena is located on the campus of Arizona State University and is also home to their hockey teams.
Everyone was skeptical of the move since the stadium only holds 5,000 people, but it made sense because the Coyotes had one of the worst average attendances in the league the last few seasons.
Well, it turns out a smaller stadium doesn't really help them much either, as we have found a rather comical stat.
Yes, you are seeing that right. The Coyotes can't even sell out a 5,000 seat arena. In fact, they are only at 92% capacity in this tiny new home. There is barely even anything to consider a 2nd level at Mullett Arena besides some elevated suites.
This is a very tough look for the Coyotes Organization and something that doesn't seem like it will change anytime soon.
Unfortunately, you can also see that the Blackhawks are towards the bottom of the league in this stat, with 73.4% capacity clip. At least they are getting more than 4,200 fans at their games, though.
