Ex-Blackhawk finds new representation in hope of a new contract
Despite being projected to sign a deal with a 4 year term elsewhere, Tyler Motte has remained unsigned for far too long.
We are now in August, and Motte has decided to press on with his fight for a new contract.
Having switched representation, Motte no doubt feels the pinch of the season drawing near.
Motte was thought to be on the verge of signing a new contract for $1.75 million AAV for four years, but possibly his old representation miscalculated his value. Since then, he has switched representation to Patrick Kane's agent, Pat Brisson.
A PTO or league minimum might be the best he can hope for at this point in the season.
We're floored, as we thought he played meaningful minutes in New York, but no offers have been made for the 2nd year in a row.
Despite his stint in New York, Brisson will need to work the phones to ensure Motte gets a new deal, and no doubt given Motte's prime, he will be able to make another prove-it deal in another large market as well.
