Fight Erupts After a Chicago Blackhawk Leaves The Game With Injury
In tonight's game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Toronto Maple Leafs, tensions flared when Blackhawks defenseman Nikita Zaitsev took a questionable hit from a Maple Leafs player and left the game injured.
Just one minute later, Chicago's Connor Murphy decided to take matters into his own hands and dropped the gloves with the player responsible for the hit on Zaitsev.
The spirited bout between Murphy and the opposing player added fuel to the already high tensions in the game.
It's a testament to the protectiveness that exists within the Blackhawks' team dynamics, as Murphy stood up for his teammate and came out on top in the fight. These moments of intensity on the ice remind us of the passion and physicality that make hockey such an exciting sport.
