The Chicago Blackhawks continued their fire sale back at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft trading Alex DeBrincat to the Ottawa Senators and Kirby Dach to the Montreal Canadiens.
Dach definitely glad to be outta Chicago as he revealed the troubles behind the scenes in Chicago. Now that he's in he's in Montreal Dach and the Canadiens need to come up with the restricted free agent.
They might of got some help with this, yesterday the New York Rangers would re-sign the player that went ahead of Dach in the 2019 Draft Kaapo Kakko. That deal was a 2 year $4,200,000 million dollar contract with a $2,100,000 dollar annual salary.
Hockey Insider Phylippe Bernard believes that that Kakko deal will help the Canadiens and Dach come together to make a deal rather quickly.
"Expect the Habs to use this contract as a comparable for Kirby Dach." - Phylippe Bernard
