When you think of the San Jose Sharks, one player come to mind that would be Patrick Marleau.
Marleau announced his retirement in May after playing 23 NHL seasons and a league-record 1,779 games, surpassing "Mr Hockey" Gordie Howe.
Today Sportsnet would reveal the San Jose Sharks will raise Patrick Marleau's iconic No. 12 to the rafters on Feb. 25, 2023, when the Sharks play the Chicago Blackhawks.
Marleau will become the first player in San Jose Sharks history to have his jersey retired,
Marleau would put up 522 goals, and 1,111 points both franchise records in San Jose. The 42-year-old was drafted second overall by the Sharks in 1997 NHL draft.
