Former NHL Player Canceled' After Making Derogatory Comments on LIVE TV
Paul Bissonette is well known in the hockey community, not so much for his time in the NHL, but more so his fan base on social media. Bissonette is the creator of the famous podcast 'spittin chicklets'', where he and former NHL player Ryan Whitney interview NHL Superstars like Crosby, Giroux, McDavid, Draisaitl and more.
Recently, Bissonette has made a comment that is quite derogatory towards one specific viewership group, and that is females who watch hockey.
Bissonette stated and published a video saying females are only into hockey, and the NHL, because the players are 'attractive'' Bissonette stated.
Nathan Strauss, a hockey fan tweeter pointed out the comment made:
'Paul Bissonnette really just said that half the reason the NHL has female viewership is because the players are attractive. On NATIONAL TV. '
'Totally gross statement that needs to be formally retracted, imo.''
Hockey is for everyone, whether that is watching, playing, or all of the above surrounding the beautiful game of hockey.
The tweet has reached over 500,000 people, and has gotten over 20,000 reactions including republishes, likes, and comments.
