In the midst of a tragic incident at the UNLV campus shooting, the St. Louis Blues showed support by taking a moment of silence before their game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Reports from Las Vegas police confirm at least three passings in the UNLV campus shooting, with one additional victim in stable condition at Sunrise Hospital. LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill provided updates, stating that four individuals experienced panic attacks, and two officers received treatment for minor injuries. The suspect involved in the shootings was engaged and ultimately succumbed in a shootout with university police.
University Police Chief Adam Garcia revealed that the incident began with reports of shots fired on campus around 11:45 a.m. local time. Two university police detectives swiftly confronted the suspect, leading to a fatal confrontation, according to NBC NEWS
Ahead of the game between the St. Louis Blues and the Vegas Golden Knights, the Blues paid their respects with a moment of silence. The Vegas Golden Knights expressed gratitude, stating:
Thank you, @StLouisBlues."
In times like these, the recognition of events beyond the realm of hockey underscores that some moments transcend the game and demand collective acknowledgment.
Us here at Hawksinsider would like to send our thoughts and prayers to those affected by today's events in Las Vegas.
