Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews Had Some Words to Say to Alex Ovechkin After Scoring His 800th Goal
NHL History was made during last nights Chicago Blackhawks game, but not by the Hawks, Alex Ovechkin completed his hat trick to hit 800 career goals- something only two other NHL legends could say they have hit, those other two are Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe.
At age 37, Ovechkin shows zero signs of slowing down, but also has to give credit to his teammate when it's due! Anthony Mantha forced the Chicago Blackhawks to cough up a turnover which lead to Evgeny Kuznetsov getting a prime scoring chance and just falling short, the puck was loose in the crease and the Chicago Blackhawks failed to cover the best goal scorer of our generation..
This game will go down in the books as history and will be one that'll never be forgotten, despite the Blackhawks being dominated on the scoreboard, the United Centre gave Ovechkin a standing ovation and even started a ''Ovi! Ovi! Ovi!'' chant!
That wasn't all though, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and even Max Domi went over and shook Ovechkin's hand- greats really recognize greats and it's amazing to see the respect that the Blackhawks showed.
The head coach of the Capitals noticed the gestures from the Blackhawks organization and did not let it go unknown, great work Hawks fans!
