With that said, it begs the question - who will be the Hawks top three point priducers when the 2022-23 NHL regular season is all said and done?
Let's take a dive-in and see.
This list doesn't go without one name in particular, and let's be honest, it is with good reason. This player needs no introduction. Mr. Showtime, Patrick Kane.
Patrick Kane was drafted by the Blackhawks with the overall selection in the 2007 NHL Draft from the OHL's London Knights, where he played seasons, scoring goals, assists for points through games played. Since being drafted Kane has been one of the most productive players in the organizations history, and perhaps one of the top five American born players to every play in the NHL. This past season Kane played games, scoring goals, assists for points - throughout his career, the native of Buffalo, New York., has posted goals, assists for points through games played, over the span of seasons.
After Kane it gets interesting, as in the past a Panarin, Debrincat, or Toews would sit upon the list, however, the latter two are obviously departed and Toews has struggled with illness and staying healthy which has severely impacted his projection, but out of respect for Captain Serious' I have included him on the list, because if anybody can get back to their previous point producing prowess it is Toews.
Johnathan Toews was selected with the third overall selection in the 2006 NHL Draft, after a solid junior career with the in the USHS preparatory league, Toews played in the NCAA for the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey team, where he posted 40 goals, 45 assists for 85 points through 76 games played over two seasons. Since being drafted the Winnipeg, Manitoba., native has played 1,014 games, putting up 357 goals, 495 assists for 852 points over 16 seasons of play. Toews most recent productive season offensively was in 2018-19, where he played 82 games, scoring 35 goals, 46 assists for 81 points. The Blackhawks deserve their captain to be at his best and Toews has always led by example, leaving it all out on the ice.
The third and final addition to the list is Max Domi.
The Arizona Coyotes selected Domi with the 13th overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft, after an impressive junior career in the OHL with the London Knights, where he played 244 games over four seasons, scoring 126 goals, 205 assists for 331 points. Since being drafted Domi has bounced around from Arizona, Montreal, Columbus, Carolina and now Chicago over his 501 game career, posting 101 goals, 213 assists for 314 points. Domi's most productive season came in 2018-19 with the Canadiens, the native of Winnipeg, Manitoba., native played 82 games scoring 28 goals, 44 assists for 72 points.
Hawks GM Kyle Davidson is certainly counting on some of the younger guys, like - Kurashev and Reichel specifically and certainly Seth Jones could be put in Toews or Domi's place, but only the future will tell.
