Yesterday on SN590, NHL insider Frank Seravalli revealed the asking price for Blackhawks defenseman Jake McCabe. According to Seravalli, if he's acquired for $4 million AAV, the asking price is in the range of a second-round pick plus a B-level prospect. On the other hand, if he's acquired for $2 million AAV, the price is in the range of a first-round pick.
According to Seravalli, the Maple Leafs have had their eye on Jake McCabe for a while. It'll be interesting to see if Toronto gets more aggressive as the trade deadline approaches. McCabe could be an interesting addition for the Leafs in the playoffs.
This season, McCabe has 2 goals and 12 assists in 43 games. The 29-year-old veteran currently has a +3 differential, which is quite impressive in a team like Chicago. In the 2022-23 season, Chicago has a -56 differential after 46 games.
