We are still in shock after last night's Blockbuster trade between the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers. That saw Matthew Tkachuk shipped from the cold Alberta winters to the sunshine of Florida.
Let's not forget seeing long time Florida Panther Johnathan Huberdeau be included in the deal heading to Calgary with Mackenzie Weegar along with Cole Schwindt and a first round pick. However this deal wasn't just only one of the biggest deals in recent history it was infact history making.
This was the first 100 point player swap since the historic Wayne Gretzky Trade from the Edmonton Oilers to Los Angeles Kings in 1988. That's not all Flames General Manager Brad Treliving with shared Friday's Matthew Tkachuk trade was the first ever sign and trade in NHL history.
Calgary, Florida, and Tkachuk's camp negotiated a contract. Tkachuk then signed the deal with Calgary before a trade was made with the Panthers.
