A roster move this morning, as Alex Vlasic will be sent down to Rockford. Due to injury Vlasic has not yet appeared in a regular season contest. Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun Times reports that Vlasic had some sort of bruise or infection on his foot that made it hard to put on his skates.
This may be a good chance for Vlasic to gain confidence and come back later in the season. At 6'6» and 190 pounds, the big man is likely to make a big splash when he's a full time NHLer, but has only played a small sample size in the big leagues to date.
For now, his speed is overkill for Rockford and his decision making will give some help to Arvid Soderblom who was bombarded by shots in their season debut.
Rockford starts at home against the Chicago Wolves Friday at 7 pm central.
