There is no denying that the cost of attending NHL games has increased substantially over the past few seasons. With each new season comes new expectations each team's on ice product. Teams with high expectations are usually serious Stanley Cup contenders and see ticket prices steadily increase in response to growing demand.
However, a new list of NHL average ticket prices per team has emerged that paints a picture entirely. The top ten most expensive tickets include the Maple Leafs, Kraken, Rangers, Oilers, Bruins, Knights, Islanders, Lightning, Predators, and shockingly, the Blackhawks.
There are maybe 5 teams in that list who have a realistic chance of winning the Stanley Cup, but all of the teams on the list have great atmospheres at their games and usually lead the league in attendance.
The one team on this list that truly is surprising is the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks have entered a rebuild and the only thing most fans are rooting for is winning the draft lottery, yet their average ticket price is $184. Some of the teams on the list will undoubtedly see ticket price decreases as the season gets underway, but others might see ticket prices increase.
