Toews Says He's Savouring Every Last Moment in a Hawks Jersey
Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane both lit it up during last nights dominating 5-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, the United Centre lit up as it seemed like the star duo found their touch.
Blackhawks fans may be witnessing the final moments of the Kane and Toews era in Chicago, despite their possible final moments in the Windy City being quite rough, we must appreciate each and every game.
Both Kane and Toews had 3 point performances last night and were questioned about their futures, Toews seemed in doubt when speaking about being in a Blackhawks jersey in the future but had some wholesome comments to make about the city of Chicago, and what it's like to put on the Blackhawks threads.
«Absolutely,» Toews said. «There's no doubt this season it's being talked (about) a lot, given the situation of where our team's at and where the two of us are in our career. When it's talked about, it's definitely on your mind a little bit more to enjoy every moment. You never know how long you'll play the game, let alone play in a city like Chicago in front of our fans.
It really never gets old. It's one of those things that you can't ever let yourself take it for granted. It's pretty special. A couple games ago, we played our 1000th game together, so that was another thing that was pretty special to myself. It's nice to make a couple plays together like we did for old times' sake and get us a win.»
By the sounds of it, Toews seems more than thankful/happy to wear the red and white sweaters, which is a good sign as Toews' future in Chicago is in his hands.
