GRAPHIC: Slapshot to the face leaves player bloody and sent to the hospital
The highlight of the night was Alex Ovechkin burying goal #801 and 802 against the Winnipeg Jets, but the real thing that should get all the attention is prayers towards Washington Capitals defensemen John Carlson.
John Carlson took a slapshot to the side of his head last night and immediately started gushing blood on the ice, take a look below:

Carlson was then transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons, which is a good sign as it is just protocol they are following and it was not urgent. Regardless it was/is a scary moment and we wish the best to Carlson.
