Trade Updates Regarding Max Domi and Andreas Athanasiou
In the fervent frenzy of NHL Trade Deadline Week, it's as easy to recite rumors and speculations as it is the alphabet. Fans panic about their favorites being traded at all, let alone to a rival team. And when your team is ripe for a rebuild, it seems like no one is safe.
As of yesterday, though the Blackhawks lost two beloved players, two other attributes appear to have been spared. Ben Pope reports that Kyle Davidson has stated he has «no intention» of trading Max Domi or Andrea Athanasiou. Both are relatively new to the team, and their acquisition has been statistically and personally favorable.
Currently, the 27 year old Domi has 49 points (18G, 31A) in 59 games this season.
The 28 year old Athanasiou has 21 points (13G, 8A) in 58 games.
While we all know at least one more major trade is on the horizon, no one is exactly sure what all it entails. Until then, they'll continue to move forward with the players they have, learning to trust and how to be a team, all over again.
