Wayne Simmonds Could be Pairing Up With a Blackhawk Who Was Traded This Summer
Wayne Simmonds has recently come out and said that he wants to play for a contender, even though his last few seasons have been pretty poor.
Simmonds, 34, is currently on the waiver wire and has just 26 points in his last 117 games. That is not a very good stat line for an older forward.
I suggested that Simmonds should not be with a true title contender, so it seems appropriate that the Senators are interested in the veteran, according to Nick Kypreos. The Sens have a lot of key forwards, Alex DeBrincat, Josh Norris, Tim Stutzle and the list goes on, young ones as well, and a second ''protector'' may be a good option, aside from Auston Watson who they already have.
The Senators could use some depth at the forward position, as they are a decent team, but definitely not a true contender.
