White Sox Pay Their Respects to Rocky Wirtz

Recently, just before the Chicago White Sox versus Chicago Cubs game, the White Sox organization took a few minutes to honour the memory of the late former Blackhawks owner, Rocky Wirtz.

During the game, the ballpark announcer delivered a brief but touching speech about the enduring legacy of Rocky. He emphasized how instrumental Rocky was in the Chicago Blackhawks' resurgence and the deep affection he held for both the team and its loyal fan base.

Furthermore, his efforts contributed significantly to the city of Chicago's revival, making him a beloved figure.

The Wirtz family's association with the Chicago Blackhawks traces back to 1954 when Rocky's grandfather, Arthur, purchased the team. Subsequently, Rocky's father, William, assumed leadership of the franchise in the early 1960s until his passing, at which point the responsibility passed on to Rocky in 2007.

Currently, the Blackhawks are under the capable leadership of Danny Wirtz, Rocky's son. Alongside this new leadership, Connor Bedard has become a pivotal part of the team, and the Blackhawks' general manager, Kyle Davidson, is diligently adding more pieces to create a competitive roster.
