Alex Galchenyuk is not done playing professional hockey
A player named Alex Galchenyuk was signed by the Arizona Coyotes but was quickly released due to some controversy he caused in Arizona. He had threatened law enforcement during a traffic stop and this led to legal issues that mounted quickly.
«I'm gunna chop you, your wife, your daughter» and «One phone call and you're all dead, your whole family, your blood line is dead,»
The Coyotes released him as soon as news of his embarrassing behavior spread. However, he later showed remorse and apologized to the officer involved and to his fans.
"My actions after drinking alcohol were not representative of who I am, but I must take responsibility for them and I hope to one day be able to show you that I am a better person than who you sadly encountered last week. What all of you do, putting your lives on the line to protect and serve others, is nothing short of selfless and heroic. I appreciate and respect each of you and I want you to know I will work on myself every day with the goal of one day being able to make amends and to try to earn your forgiveness."
Due to the termination of his contract, he has signed a new contract to play in the KHL league with Spartak Moscow.
It remains to be seen whether this will be a redemption tour or if he will stay in Russia for the time being, but he is determined to continue playing.
