Lazerus stated that Chicago's current position regarding their rebuild is much more value than the Predators, as they have several large salary deals within the organization for many years to come. The contracts are so large that they nearly have no room to acquire key depth players, something they truly lack.
Lazerus did a great job on that piece, but the highlight of it was something that Blackhawks fans will really love to hear.
Lazerus decided to discuss a topic with Patrick Kane, regarding his future outside the NHL as Lazerus believes Kane has ''future general manager'' written all over him. Kane's response was quite amazing.
Kane stated he might be interested in a role with the Chicago Blackhawks front office down the road.
Kane also stated that once retirement hits he'd like to focus on a day and give his wife Amanda a break. Many NHL players go with that route and a few years or less down the road get an itch to return to the NHL whether that is in a management role or back to being a player, and it seems as if Kane may join the Blackhawks front office in the future.
If Kane decides to go that route of hoping for a spot within the Blackhawks management after retirement, he very well may be interested in returning to Chicago.
