For a significant period of time, the Montreal Canadiens will be without center Kirby Dach. As a result of Tinordi's hit on Dach, Dach suffered a lower-body injury.

It is suspected that Dach has torn his ACL and MCL in his knee, which would endanger his season for good.

Not the best start to the year for the #MontrealCanadiens and Kirby Dach..

Canadiens don't have all the information yet, as they await final results from Dach's tests.

His health has just improved after he missed 24 games during the 2022-2023 season due to an upper-body injury. He was cleared to return on July 30th during the off-season.

Tinordi trying to put Kirby Dach back on the Blackhawks?

Having lost the towering center who stands at 6'4" and 217 lbs, and also helped push forward the development of players such as Alex Newhook, the Canadiens will have a huge hole in their lineup.

At the same time, Newhook must adjust to his new team by filling Dach's spot while he is injured.

Initial word I'm receiving on Canadiens' Kirby Dach is he has a torn ACL+torn MCL in his knee. There are more tests being done, and we'll wait for Habs to officially confirm once they're received all the info, but this puts Dach's season at risk if it ends up being the case.

As of now, there is no official word on how long Kirby Dach will be out.
