Blackhawks Fans Happy with the latest DeBrincat Trade
Before this season, numerous Blackhawks fans felt that their team could have acquired more talent in the Alex DeBrincat trade that sent him to the Ottawa Senators for three draft picks. Trades are always hard to judge at the beginning, especially when a high-priced talent is moved for potential futures that no one will know until they're drafted.
Fast forward to this summer in 2023, and the DeBrincat trade for the Blackhawks looks rosy compared to before. It was announced, yesterday that the Senators moved to bring DeBrincat to the Detroit Red Wings for Dominik Kubalik, Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round pick, and a fourth-round pick in 2024.
They expressed their satisfaction with the trade, particularly with Kevin Korchinski Ludwinski and the 2024 pick. Korchinski, a highly likely stud defenseman for the Blackhawks, is expected to become a regular this year as he feels ready to leap into the NHL.
He has been spending time with the Seattle Thunderbirds, who reached the Memorial Cup this season.
Chicago prospects also tweeted that they initially felt upset with the return for DeBrincat but have since changed their mind regarding General Manager Kyle Davidson.
As this rebuild continues to deepen, Davidson is showing that he's making the right moves to rebuild this team properly and give them a chance to become a playoff contender once again in the next number of years.
