Blackhawks ownership invests in USHL.
The Blackhawks organization is still reeling from the news that their beloved owner Rocky Wirtz passed away last week suddenly at the age of 70. There has been much outpouring of sympathy and positive words for the former owner as the team prepares to move on from his leadership.
The team is in the hands of Danny Wirtz, son of Rocky. And with his first order of business, he has decided to purchase the USHL Chicago Steel hockey team. This team is one of the more recognized throughout the American junior hockey leagues as they have been successful in churning out numerous star players which include Adam Fantilli and soon to be number one choice next season Macklin Celebrini.
With their finances, the Wirtz corporation aims to grow junior hockey even further and bring out more talent that could become part of their organization in future drafts.
It's announced that the team will remain at the fox valley ice arena in Geneva IL as per the Wirtz corporation.
