Brad Marchand recently spoke about it being a idea to have young Captains, claiming it is too much of a task for them to fulfill.
Did he forget that Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, Gabriel Landeskog, Alex Ovechkin, Brady Tkachuk, and a lot more were given the «C» at a young age?
It could be that he just has a sour taste in his mouth that he isn't Captain. Or, he's taking a shot at young Captain and fellow rival Nick Suzuki. Suzuki was recently named Captain of the Montreal Canadiens, and the youngest in team history at the age of 23.
Nick qualifies under the young Captain category. And judging the Boston/Montreal rivalry, it wouldn't surprise me if he was talking about Nick Suzuki.
