Imagine having a boss that tells you your not worth what their paying you How that would feel? Now imagine them saying that about your over social media?
That's the case in Dallas with Stars Owner Tom Gaglardi, earlier this week Gaglardi would discuss Stars pending restricted free agent Jason Robertson criticizing him for what he's asking in contract negotiations.
q>Gaglardi went on record for saying players shouldn't get big money deal right after their entry level contracts are up.
Tom Gaglardi has gone viral in the past, when he called out star players Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn for not doing enough for the club.
On Tuesday, Gaglardi made headlines again, this time when he was a guest on the Cam and Strick podcast and revealed a bit on his financial management and how contracts have changed in Dallas. And once again, took shots at his top players.
Gaglardi explained how he isn't a fan of paying kids out of entry level big money, adding that veteran players are getting squeezed because star players are being paid all the money.
"The guys who can put the puck in the net are getting too big a piece of the pie."
Last month, Gaglardi criticized both Seguin and Benn saying:
"Jamie and Tyler have been underperforming offensively.»
Seguin is signed for five more seasons at $9.85 million and Benn is signed for three more seasons at $9.5 million.
This reminded everyone on how a couple of seasons ago, Stars CEO Jim Lites said, «They are fucking horseshit, I don't know how else to put it,» when asked about his two star players. Today Gagliardi didn't go Jim Lites on them but it's clear he doesn't feel they are worth the money they are making in Dallas.
We haven't heard or seen a response from Robertson, Been, or Seguin, but I can't imagine any of them are pleased with their owners comments. Could we see some trades coming in Dallas??
