However, the highlight of the night was Connor Bedard's NHL debut. He contributed with an assist, played for 21 minutes, and took five shots on goal.
Tonight, the Blackhawks were in Boston, facing off against David Pasternak and the revamped Bruins. The Bruins are notably missing their six-time Selke Trophy winner, Patrice Bergeron, who retired.
Four minutes into the third period, with the Boston Bruins leading two to one, Bruins rookie forward John Beecher decided to engage in a scuffle with the veteran Blackhawks forward, Jason Dickinson. This was rookie Beecher's first NHL game, alongside his first NHL fight.
Both players exchanged powerful punches and a few bombs, but it seemed that Dickinson had the upper hand.
A good hockey game wouldn't be complete without a fight between two heavyweights, and this bout certainly did not disappoint. Worth noting, however, is that Connor Bedard scored his first career goal, although it was bittersweet since the Blackhawks lost 3-1.
The Blackhawks' next game is scheduled against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Saturday, October 14th, with the game starting at 7:00 PM Eastern.
