Former Top-10 Pick Busted for Rigging Games in Russia
Nikita Filatov was selected 6th overall in the 2008 NHL Draft, though his career did not last very long.
He played a measly 53 games in the NHL for the Blue Jackets and Senators before heading back to play professionally in Russia.
Now, he is in the spotlight, but not for a good reason.
According to Championat.com, Filatov has been aiding in match-fixing while serving as an assistant in the MHL and VHL development leagues.
It is currently unknown if Filatov's role in this was during his time as a player or coach, but we do know that it was most definitely during his time in Russia, as he has not been affiliated with American hockey since 2012.
