Jonathan Toews Comments On Trade Rumors

Today is the first day of training camp for the Chicago Blackhawks. Captain Jonathan Toews spoke to the media and commented on the trade rumors that surrounded him all offseason.

Toews stated «I'm just going to focus on playing hockey right now. I know that's not an exciting story». While Toews didn't directly say that he isn't interested in a trade, general manager Kyle Davidson further shut down trade rumors and stated yesterday that «there haven't been any trade discussions involving Jonathan Toews».

This is great news for Blackhawks fans. With the rebuild in full effect, there needs to be proven veteran presence in the locker room to help mentor the prospects as they look to develop and take the leap to the NHL and Jonathan Toews is the perfect guy to do that.
