Major Announcement: An Unexpected City could be next for NHL Expansion
Bill Daly confirmed that the NHL and the Board of Governors are always open to hearing offers regarding expansion.
NHL Insider Kevin Weekes has listed a surprising new city as a destination for the NHL's next expansion.
With 3 teams currently in California, could San Diego become the 4th

team there ? The potential Midway Rising mixed use development project would include a 16000 seat Arena.

Kevin Weekes believes California could support a third NHL franchise. In the event that an NHL team is placed in San Diego, it could become the fourth team on the West Coast.
As owner of the Los Angeles Rams, Stan Kroenke recently joined Midway Rising as a lead investor. This project involves redeveloping the Sports Arena.
This mixed-use development features a 16,000-seat arena.
Now, the only thing that matters is if the timeline can be met by the time the NHL needs another expansion team. A great idea is the NHL's continued desire to grow the game on the West Coast since San Diego is a market that wasn't traditionally considered.
