When the Chicago Blackhawks drafted defensemen Alex Vlasic 43rd overall in the second round at the 2019 NHL entry draft, many Blackhawks fans were unsure what to think of the defensemen who was coming off a few average seasons in the NCAA (University Hockey).
Fast forwarding just three years, nearly four, and Vlasic has excelled his game at the AHL level and will be looking at claiming a spot on the Chicago Blackhawks blue line within the next year or two. Vlasic is a 6-foot-6, 200 pound defensemen who's game resembles a Brian Campbell style of play, but has an amazing reach/height advantage.
As seen below, Vlasic towered over his Blackhawks teammates when he was with the Hawks last season.
Sadly for Vlasic his development will now take a big hit, as he will be sidelined for a minimum of six weeks due to a fractured Fibula.
