As the Blackhawks start their season on the road, more stories are continuing to emerge about Connor Bedard and his family. The family from North Vancouver, British Columbia, began their summer with a life-changing event when their son Connor was drafted first overall by the team.

Ever since they have been on a whirlwind as their lives continue to change.

Head coach Luke Richardson was chatting with the media scrum, discussing his story about how he met Bedard's mother after suggesting they move into the apartment complex where he lives.

His mom, along with Connor Bedard himself, has mentioned that he needed to make the team first before looking at the apartment. Richardson chuckles as he describes what he told her.

The humbleness and professionalism this family has shown to the NHL and its fanbase are quite remarkable and second to none. Bedard has settled into his new role as the leader of this team, and over the past two games, he has one goal and one assist, along with two penalty minutes and 11 shots on goal.

His average ice time is around 21 minutes per game. It's widely expected that his stats will rise quickly as he continues to develop into a perennial star.
