Among the moves was the trade of Blackhawks forward Alex Debrincat to the Ottawa Senators. Debrincat was expected to be one of Chicago's top six forwards for many years to come, so many fans were shocked when he was moved.
Well it appears there's some good news, the first-round draft choice they received back in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft was from the Western Hockey League defenseman Kevin Korchinski.
His numbers speak for himself when he has played 49 games and has scored 8 goals with 58 assists for 66 points. That's some incredible numbers for a defenseman who hasn't even played one game in the NHL yet.
As the Blackhawks continue this adventure it's going to be interesting to see how they move forward in this year's draft which happens to have some of the best talents in a generation.
The Hawks currently hold eight draft choices in the first three rounds of this year's draft. This gives them all kinds of capital whether to trade some of the pics or use them all to rebuild their hockey team.
Blackhawks fans hope General manager Kyle Davidson has a good handle on this moment.
