The Blackhawks will try to sign Kurashev before July 20th
It seems that Kyle Davidson, the manager of the Chicago Blackhawks, is prioritizing the signing of RFA Philip Kurashev.
Unlike Caleb Jones, Kurashev has already received a qualifying offer from the club and the deadline for his decision is quickly approaching.
The Blackhawks will try to get a new contract done with Kurashev before their arbitration hearing on July 20th (a week from Thursday).
The offer made by Davidson and the Club to Kurashev was $787,500 which is only slightly higher than his previous salary.
Unless Davidson can get Kurashev to sign before the arbitration hearings, for which Kurashev has already filed, they will have to allocate more cap space for this promising top-six talent.
It begs the question, why did the team sign Nick Foligno and Corey Perry to such high salaries when Kurashev also needs to be paid?
