Blackhawks goalie Alex Stalock returns to the lineup tonight against the Colombus Blue Jackets. Stalock has played in seven games for Chicago so far this season, winning three of them. He was seen in the starting net at practice this morning. All indications are that he'll play his first game since suffering an injury on November 1.
Back in November, the Hawks goalie suffered the first concussion of his career in a collision with New York Islanders forward Cizikas. He has been out of action since that injury and has missed a total of 20 games. When Stalock cleared the concussion protocol, Arvid Soederblom was sent to the Rockford IceHogs.
"I thought it was going to be five days, to be honest. That's just your mind, how it works. I thought (it would be) a week, I'll be right back, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. And five days turned into whatever it may be."
- Alex Stalock to Chicagos Tribune reporter Phil Thompson
This season, the 35-year-old veteran has maintained a .914 save percentage, which is not bad. We wish him all the best and hope that he fully recovered from his injury.
