The Chicago Blackhawks and the organizations general manager Kyle Davidson had quite the busy offseason as it was the teams first official summer break heading into a full ''rebuild'' phase, and they sure started off hot. Over fifteen players were sent packing their bags, including a few ''star'' players and fan favourites.

Alex DeBrincat

DeBrincat was sadly traded away at the NHLs entry draft, in exchange for the 7th and overall pick, who the Blackhawks drafted Kevin Korchinski with.

Kirby Dach

Dach was alongside DeBrincat as they were both traded on the NHLs draft day, the Blackhawks, the Blackhawks received a thirteenth overall in exchange for Dach, they then used that pick to draft forward Frank Nazar, who has now suffered a early career injury and is out for months.

Dylan Strome

Strome was not given a qualifying offer and was quickly signed by the Washington Capitals.

Henrik Borgstrom

Borgstrom was not given a qualifying offer and signed with Dylan Strome in Washington with the Capitals team.

Erik Gustafsson

Gustafsson did not receive a qualifying offer from Chicago and signed in Washington.

De Haan

De Haan did not receive a qualifying offer and became a free agent.

Wyatt Kalynuk

Despite the Blackhawks taking play in the rebuild moving forward, the Blackhawks did not offer a qualifying contract to the youngster and he signed a deal with the Vancouver Canucks.

Collin Delia

Delia spent years in the AHL system and was believed to be making the jump to Chicagos backup goaltending role for the upcoming season, sadly he did not receive a offer from Chicago and signed elsewhere.

Kurtis Gabriel

Fan favorite minor league tough guy did not receive a contract offer and hit free agency. Where he then decided to retire.

Andrew Shaw

Shaw spent his time on long-term injury reserve for the remainder of his contract, despite him being officially retired- it is now officially official as his contract is over and he is not on any payroll.

Cale Morris

Became a free agent
