The Real Reason Why This Years World Juniors Attendance is Absolutely Brutal
The World Juniors attendance for day one, and so on has been atrocious, a all-time low. Day 1 statistics for fans in attended look like this, and no it is not a Arizona Coyotes game attendance you are looking at, lol!
Keep in mind, the tournament is taking place in Edmonton and the arena has a capacity of 20,000 plus fans.
Day 1:
Czechia vs Slovakia - 430 fans total
Latvia vs Finland - 376 fans total
USA vs Germany - 829 fans total

It looked empty, as empty as it gets..
Why is it so empty? Well, the reasoning is quite clear and there is two.. We are in the middle of August during a beautiful summer, and a pair of tickets costs $350!!!!! 350 big ones was the price team Canada's semi-final game on Friday, and that is without considering the price of parking, concessions and etc..
An hour and a half before puck drop for Team Canada's semifinal game at the World Juniors, on home soil, and there appear to be thousands of tickets still available, with the cheapest seats priced at $350 for a pair without considering parking, concessions, etc.
The tournament continues to have thousands of empty seats with a below average attendance, i believe a Arizona Coyotes practice could have drawn a better crowd!
