This is what Max Domi's next contract in Toronto may look like
Next season, Max Domi will be living out one of his childhood dreams as he joins the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Max grew up in Toronto while his father played for the legendary original six-team.
He has recently signed a one-year contract with the Maple Leafs.
Domi's intention is to secure a longer-term contract with the team once the salary cap goes up. But this contract will put the Maple Leafs even more in debt cap wise, as they are already $11M in cap space debt.
Potential contracts:
3 years, $4.5m AAV
4 years, $5m AAV
6 years, $5.25m AAV
He had an impressive season with 56 points split between Chicago and Dallas. If he can maintain this level of production, he could be in for a substantial payday.
Max Domi is currently in the prime of his career, and it is essential for Brad Treliving to compensate him adequately for his services. Kyle Davidson did not find a spot for Domi, but Treliving must take advantage of his talent.
If Domi continues to perform at a point-per-game pace or exceeds it, he could secure a much more significant long-term contract.
