Minnesota Wild sabotage Connor Bedard's next contract with blockbuster move
The Minnesota Wild have made it a point to lock down their soon #1 defenseman in Brock Faber today.
The deal is a whopping 8-year, $8.5 M AAV contract totaling $68 Million for the 40-point defenseman.
Faber has taken the place of Wild Captain Jared Spurgeon in the lineup due to injuries in 2023-2024 and has been utilized on the power-play, in addition to playing upwards of 25 minutes a night.
While in 2023, the Blackhawks signed Connor Bedard to a $950K contract AAV for the next 3 years.
It won't expire until 2025-2026 when Faber's next contract begins.
Since Bedard did win the Calder Trophy and was a 61-point forward with a terrible Blackhawks team in 2023-2024, that should set him up for a comparable contract or better right?
Here's hoping Kyle Davidson doesn't try and cheap out on our future #1 center.
Brock Faber in 2023-2024 played 82 games for the Minnesota Wild scoring 47 points(8 G, 39 A) with 26 PIMs and a -1 on ice.
