While Jonathan Toews hasn't officially retired from the NHL yet, the Chicago Blackhawks owe their successes of the past decade(s) to Toews and Patrick Kane.
Toews, of course, wouldn't be mentioned in the Top Ten of ESPN's Top 25 NHL Athletes list, while having a laundry list of accolades.
While he got snubbed on the list, there's undoubtedly a future where Toews will end up in the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Chicago Blackhawks Hall of Fame, joining compatriots like Ed Belfour, Paul Coffey and Doug Gilmour.
All I'm saying is, in the 21st century,
Jonathan Toews won,
3 Cups 2 Olympic Gold Medals 2 World Jr Championships 1 Conn Smythe (2010) 1 Olympic Most Valuable Forward (2010) Selke Mark Messier Award ESPY Best NHL Player
& MANY more nominations.

Since Patrick Kane is #4 doesn't he deserve a spot in the top 10 in the meantime?
