Earlier this year, NBC who has had control over the Chicago sports landscape decided to cut their regional sports business which left the NHL, MLB and NBA teams without an option to show their product.
Shortly afterwards, White Sox and Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf and Blackhawks owner Danny Wirtz decided to form this network and oversee the control of their own television deal. Unfortunately, the network has not been able to secure deals with major television carriers which include Xfinity and Youtube TV.
Currently where cable television is not as prevalent and many fans resorting to mobile devices and computers to watch their games have chosen to go to an app-based platform. Many fans have reported to having issues with the network staying on the air, trouble with audio and other issues with video and or not being able to see the games at all as this network is.
Many feel that this network will need the backing of Comcast who owns Xfinity as they would have the means to help with distribution, pricing end and technical resources to ensure the product remains on 24/7.
Like any new product, there are bound to be setbacks and with the lack of agreements to help with the reach of this channel and the resource is to help improve their product it's likely they will continue to be plagued with problems into the
new Blackhawks season.
