The Drought is Broken, as Connor Bedard puts the Blackhawks up 2-0
Is Connor Bedard's sophomore slump over? Albeit during this slump he now has 8 points in 8 games, so we can hardly call it a slump.
But his goal drought was apparent, as until tonight he's only had 7 points( 1 G, 6 A) in 7 games with the Hawks.
He wasn't scoring at the clip people have expected of him, with someone like Teuvo Teravainen on the top line this season.
But the Blackhawks continue to be the hunters tonight, as Bedard hung another goal on Juuse Saros, and it was a slick one!
He now has 2 goals this season, as he scored the goal on Saros 5:14 in the 2nd period against the Predators.
The goal was assisted by both Alex Vlasic and Connor Murphy, as he took advantage of a beautiful pass and buried it.
He would use his backhand to use his stick, and knelt in a way to beat the defender in front of Saros.
The goal just establishes the fact that Bedard can find new and inventive ways you wouldn't expect to score a goal. Kudos to Bedard on finding a highlight reel goal for us all tonight.
This follows Bedard's last attempt on Saros where he'd beat two Predators and get an attempt against the goalie but was unsuccessful.
Connor Bedard tonight has 1 goal,, +1, and 4 shots on goal with 9:17 played on the ice against the Predators.
With an incredible shot, Bedard already displayed his goal-scoring ability by scoring 22 goals in 68 games to go along with 61 points. He was on pace for well over 70 points if he hadn't gotten injured and missed 14 games in the middle of the season.
As we inch closer to the start of next season and all signs point to Bedard improving by a fair bit, the NHL has projected the over/under for his points at 85.
How are we doing now?
Can he score 85 points this season?
