Former NHL defensemen states his teammate Kane deserved to be bullied
The Oilers and their fans are familiar with Evander Kane's on-ice talent and off-ice issues, including gambling and serious allegations. Former NHL player Kyle Wellwood, who played with Kane in Winnipeg, shared stories and opinions about Kane's time with the Jets on the Cam and Strick Podcast today.
On the show, Wellwood was asked about the incident where Jets defenseman and former Blackhawks Cup champion Dustin Byfuglien threw Kane's stuff in a shower. Wellwood confirmed it happened and said that even as Kane's friend, he felt Kane deserved what he got in Winnipeg.
Wellwood also talked about how Kane's Jets teammates teased him for things like wanting to eat alone at team dinners and buying lots of designer clothes.
Kane has had controversies throughout his career, like the Sharks ending his contract over false vaccination claims and facing financial issues due to gambling debts.
On another note, where's Dustin Byfuglien now, the Blackhawks 'legend'? Well, Big Buf is a pro fisherman, yes, you read that right, and he's doing quite good for himself in his new 'pro' sport.
