Interesting contract details for Ex-Blackhawk
As part of the March 2022 trade, Brandon Hagel was dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Boris Katchouk and 2 conditional draft picks in the 2023 NHL Draft.
During his 103 games with Tampa Bay, he has contributed 34 goals and 37 assists for 71 points.
Correction, Hagel's deal is a full no trade clause in years 3 and 4, and then becomes a 16 team no trade clause in years 5 to 8.
In response, the Lightning have rewarded him with an 8-year extension, with 2023-2024's hit being a mere $1.5 Million, and then he gets a nice raise in 2024-2025, paying him $6.5 Million AAV.
But the dirty little details come into play in years 3 and 4, with his NTC becoming a 16-team NTC by 2028-2029.
Hagel gets rewarded and gets a no-trade clause in his contract, is this cause for concern for Julien Brisebois once Hagel declines in play?
