Update: Connor Bedard's first game as a Blackhawk will be played soon
As part of the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase, the Chicago Blackhawks will be participating in a prospect tournament against the Minnesota Wild.
It is expected that the showcase will begin on September 13, 2023, and the St. Louis Blues is also going to be one of the teams competing. During last year's tournament, the Fitfth Third Arena in Chicago was used as the venue.
Connor Bedard is expected to be taking part in the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase in Minnesota when the #mnwild rooks take on the #blackhawks and #stlblues in two weeks In addition, this will be Connor Bedard's first tournament and game in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform, among mostly players who are still playing the junior level of hockey when he plays in this tournament.
It also leads to the question of whether it is a good idea for Bedard to be playing in a tournament primarily restricted to players who have not yet reached the level of an NHL player this season if he is slated to make his pro debut with the Blackhawks this season.
Certainly, it will be a great event that could even sell out, but for now, count on Bedard wearing the Blackhawks uniform for the first time in his career.
